MILLER, Sophia Matkin - Putnam

Died in this city on Nov 7, 1881 of typhoid fever after an illness of nearly six weeks, Sophia J, wife of Mayor John R. Miller of this city. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. Isaac Matkin, deceased, born in the year 1850 and married her now bereaved husband in 1874. The funeral took place on Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock p.m. the services being conducted by Dr. A. Marine, of College Avenue Church, the attendance of relatives and friends being very large. – kbz
